CORAL + CRIMSON

LOVE IS THE MESSAGE.

This colorway belongs to the LGBTQIA+ community, to its joy, imagination, culture, courage and refusal to disappear.

Its number honors 1969 and the Stonewall Uprising in New York City: a defining act of resistance that gave new momentum to the modern movement for LGBTQIA+ liberation.

Pride did not begin as a marketing palette.

It grew from protest. From people standing together against harassment, criminalization, violence and the demand that they make themselves smaller or remain hidden.

It also grew into something joyful.

Music. Dancing. Chosen family. Fashion. Art. Language. Community. The freedom to become more fully visible, and to help someone else believe that they can be visible too.

THE COLORS

Coral represents warmth, protection, communication, community and joyful energy.

Crimson represents courage, power, sacrifice, passion and life force.

Together, they represent joy with a backbone.

Celebration that remembers the protest that made it possible.

Love that refuses erasure.

WHY IT STILL MATTERS

New York City passed its first law prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation in 1986, after years of organizing. New York enacted marriage equality in 2011 and the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act in 2019.

Each victory mattered.

None made the work complete.

LGBTQIA+ people, particularly transgender, gender nonconforming and nonbinary people, continue to face stigma, violence, political targeting, social isolation and barriers to affirming physical and mental healthcare.

Twenty-two percent of net proceeds from every PROUD 001.69 colorway purchase is committed to LGBTQIA+ health, wellness and community resources, helping lift up the community and reduce stigma.

The recipient organization will be identified transparently once confirmed. No organization will be represented as an official partner without its written approval, and contribution totals will be reported publicly.

Pride is remembrance.
Pride is resistance.
Pride is care.
Pride is joy.                                                                           Pride is every day.
